Keynote Speaker: Alan Zucker
Partner, Excel Sports Management
Alan Zucker joined Excel Sports Management as a partner in 2014, bringing 20+ years of experience in talent marketing, corporate sponsorship and business development. His impressive list of current marketing clients includes Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning, Joe Montana, Matt Ryan, Marcus Mariota, Deshaun Watson, Sam Darnold, Danica Patrick, Jim Nantz and Taylor Swift.
 
In his role, Zucker leads a sales and marketing team responsible for securing sponsorship deals, client endorsements, appearances, memorabilia and trading card opportunities, plus additional brand extensions and revenue generating opportunities for Excel’s entire client base to include football, basketball, baseball, golf, consulting and property naming rights/jersey partnerships.
 
Zucker joined Excel from IMG, where he served a duel role as Senior Vice President of Athlete Sales & Marketing and Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this position, he led marketing efforts for athletes across all sports, handled the day-to-day management of clients, negotiated corporate and sponsorship sales in addition to working on sales and business development for IMG's media and sales properties. With IMG's Business Development group, Zucker developed corporate relationships for IMG-owned properties, developing fully integrated sponsorship packages at marquee events such as the Olympics, Fashion Week, title sponsorship of the WTA Tour and the World Series of Poker.
 
Prior to IMG, Zucker had seven years of selling experience with various marketing organizations. His responsibilities included sales, promotion and marketing of products and services to major retail accounts such as Home Depot, Target and WalMart.
 
Alan graduated with a BS in Marketing from Florida State University in 1989, where he was also an equipment manager for the university's football team. He is married with three children and lives in Bronxville, New York.

Definitive Sports Representation
Tenisha Patterson-Brown, Esq. is a sports attorney and business manager for professional athletes, entrepreneur, avid philanthropist and wife. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and English in 2007, and her Master of Science in Sports Management in 2008 from The Florida State University. She also earned her Juris Doctorate in 2012 from Charlotte School of Law and is licensed to practice in the State of Florida. She started her own business and legal consulting firm, Definitive Sports Representation in 2009. Her mission was to turn athletes into brands but more importantly businessmen. She expanded her business in 2015 to include the spouses of athletes to encourage her clients to build empires together.
 
Her philanthropic work includes serving as Executive Director of her and her husband’s foundation, the Everette Brown Bag Foundation geared towards helping children and their families get active and learn about proper nutrition. She also serves as Executive Director of the Professional Football Wives Association, Inc. which she co-founded to encourage women of the NFL to serve one another and their communities.
 
She co-owns two businesses with her husband, a Tropical Smoothie Café franchise and Charlotte Luxury Rentals, a luxury rental car company. She recently launched a fourth business, Fab Baby Treasures which was inspired by the loss of her first daughter and her journey through infertility. She avidly writes on her creative blog www.fiercefabulousflawless.com about life, love, business and family.
 
Tenisha is an inaugural member of the Florida State University Young Alumni Council, Seminole Boosters, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She has been featured as Top 30 Under 30 Alumni from Florida State University, on Forbes.com, Black Enterprise Magazine, Munaluchi Bridal Magazine and TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress. Her passion…speaking life into others.

Networking Fair: All Students
There are 30 organizations local, regional, and national that are looking forward to getting to know you!
The Networking Fair will be comprised of three structured sessions and two open sessions. The structured sessions will consist of seven 6-minute time periods Networking Fair sessions. Each session will consist of approximately 50 students who will be assigned a table to begin upon entering the Networking Fair rooms.

Each organization’s table will have four to five chairs on one side for students to sit with organization’s representative(s) on the opposite side of the table. Students and representatives will talk and network for about 6 minutes. After the first 6-minute time period, students will be instructed to move to the table to their right and begin another 6-minute time period with a different organization. A conference staff member will keep track of time and volunteers will instruct students to move to the next table at the appropriate time.
Students are to go to the Networking Fair during specific group times. The 11:10 AM - 12:00 PM session is specifically for juniors and seniors. The 1:00 PM - 1:50 PM session is reserved just for graduate students. All other Networking Fair sessions are free to all students. Students, please make sure you are going at the appropriate times. Volunteers will be by the doors to direct students and answer any questions.

Speaker: Marty Mulford
Senior Director of Service Retention,
Nashville Predators
Now entering his 11th full season with the Nashville Predators/Bridgestone Arena, Mulford currently oversees the day-to-day operations of the Predators 22-person ticket service teams, which includes Season Tickets, Sponsorships and Premium Seating. The Predators have seen a 90%+ renewal rate over the past five seasons, including a 108% renewal rate from the 2017-18 season going into the 2018-19 season. The Predators are currently on a 109-game sellout streak.
 
Prior to joining the Predators, Mulford spent five seasons as Group Sales Manager with the Florida Marlins. During his five seasons, the Marlins enjoyed a 136% increase in group ticket revenues. Mulford’s department created some very successful group initiatives, but none larger than University of Miami Night, which sees close to 20,000 tickets sold each year to a single game. This is the largest group in Marlins history and one of the largest in professional sports.
 
Before joining the Marlins, Mulford was a Ticket Sales Representative for the Florida Panthers, the ECHL’s Pensacola Ice Pilots and the af2’s Pensacola Barracudas.
 
The Albany, GA native’s first taste of professional sports came as Director of Media Relations for the Carolina Mudcats, a AA baseball team in the Southern League. A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Mulford and his wife have two children – Marcela (13) and Noah (11).

Owner & CEO, Smitn Marketing Consulting
Nicole Smith is the founder and CEO of Smitn Consulting. Recently named one of the top 500 executives in Dallas by D Magazine, she spent the early years of her career in entertainment marketing, including six years with The Walt Disney Company. After earning her MBA, she joined the San Diego Padres as Director, Brand Development, where she had oversight of all marketing and branding initiatives. Following her time in San Diego, Nicole moved to Daytona Beach to drive NASCAR’s effort to appeal to a younger and more diverse fan base as Senior Director, Growth Segment Marketing. Later, Nicole relocated to Dallas to lead marketing and fan experience as the CMO for Dallas-Fort Worth’s WNBA team before launching Smitn Consulting in 2018.
Originally from Richmond, California, Nicole earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from UCLA and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business. She currently holds a seat on the Michigan Ross Alumni Board of Governors and is a passionate supporter of the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.
